Complex roof installation to a prestigious single dwelling

Foxglove Manor was a new build design and construction project of a prestigious country mansion in Whitchurch-onThames in Berkshire.

A traditional handmade clay plain tile was selected for the roof to compliment the external brickwork, cedar cladding and specialist render finishes.

The roof was very detailed with multiple hips, valleys, verges, cat slides, lead gullies, flashings and Velux windows. Specialist care ensured that all corners were mitered to a high-quality standard.

Before laying the tiles, Celotex installation boards were placed on top of the rafters with counter battens on top and felt used as a vapour barrier. Every tile was then handmixed with three different colours to produce an aesthetically pleasing variation across the roof.
